Founded in 2022 by Kalakshetra Sukanya Ajith, Natyanjali Dance Academy was established with a vision to share the beauty, discipline, and cultural richness of Indian classical dance with the next generation.
From our beginnings in Kitchener to a growing community of more than 120 students across Kitchener and Brantford, Natyanjali has become a welcoming space where children and adults connect with their heritage through dance.
Through dedicated training in Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattam, we strive to preserve classical traditions while nurturing confidence, creativity, and artistic expression.
Meet Our Founder
Kalakshetra Sukanya Ajith
Beginning her Bharatanatyam journey at the age of three, Sukanya developed a lifelong dedication to classical dance. During her school years, she earned Kalathilakam recognition at district-level youth festivals before pursuing advanced training at Kalakshetra Foundation in Chennai.
Throughout her artistic journey, Sukanya has remained committed to preserving the authenticity, discipline, and expressive beauty of the Kalakshetra tradition.
In 2022, she founded Natyanjali with a vision to share this rich cultural heritage with children and adults in Canada. Through structured training and a nurturing approach, she encourages students to develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong appreciation for Indian classical dance.
